Try It Thursday- Broken Halo IPA

Please excuse my tardy Try It Thursday, yesterday we all took a blog silence to remember baby Cohen who is now with the angels above. To Megan, my heart, my prayers and my wishes are with you and Brent now and forever.

Out of all the beers we carry, Broken Halo is by far my favorite. Its not common that many girls like a beer this strong in flavor and boldness, but IPAs- to me- are delicious. They take a more mature palette or a drinker who is open to trying new things.

Broken Halo IPA is a beer produced in the spirit of traditional IPA products shipped from the UK to India in the late 1800s. The almost excessive amounts of Cascade and Columbus hops used in Broken Halo give it notable citrus and grapefruit aromas and flavors. The beer bitterness measures high but tastes smooth due to the full-bodied, Caramel malt sweetness. The finish is juicy, clean, and short lived. A devilishly bold, heavenly smooth India Pale Ale.

Malts in Broken Halo: Pale, Caramel, Carapils
Hops in Broken Halo: Alchemy, Cascade, Zeus
Food pairings: Spicy or hot foods (Mexican, Asian, hot wings)

It has 190 calories per beer and is 6.0% ABV... OH and its really yummy and doesnt take much to get you a nice buzz going if thats your goal.
