Glamour Shots

Part of growing up is trying new things: haircuts, clothing styles, dolls and toys and part of being a girl growing up is learning how to best make yourself feel beautiful. Many of you out there may have gotten glamour shots somewhere along the road. I know I did. And today Ive decided to share just one of mine with you all. Youre welcome.

Bridal Shower #2

I had another bridal shower this weekend and once again, felt totally surrounded by love. Two of my aunts and two of my cousins hosted the Parisian themed party and we had so much fun. I find it somewhat difficult to put into words how much I appreciate all the extra love, the time spent, the miles driven and of course the gifts. Derek and I have really enjoyed these months leading up to our big day and will continue to feel spoiled rotten for many many years as we use all the wonderful additions to our home.
With my hosts
Me and my amazing Nannie who is 96 years old and stll enjoys silly things like Bridal Showers

Julius Cheeser

What does one do when leaving a wedding and is offered the ten pound block of cheese from cocktail hour? Id venture to guess if the person offering it is known, some might oblige and take it. Some may take it home and cut it into cubes to serve, some may slice it and pair it with crackers, some may even snack on it with fruit.

What happens when were offered a ten pound block of cheese while leaving our cousins wedding? This. Meet Julius Cheeser.

Prayers for Jordan

Every once in a while a child comes along and shows us all what it really means to fight. Jordan is one of those little girls. Though I have never met her, her mom or her dad, there are many of their family members here in Austin we are close to and so it makes our heart that much heavier. Please please, when you say your prayers today or tonight- or if you don’t pray, when you wish for good things – wish for strength for Jordans parents. Keep them in your thoughts and send them lots of love. Please.

Wedding Wednesday

I feel as though were at a strange point with this wedding planning, a sort of limbo, if you will. Its not far enough away to have nothing to do and not close enough to be consuming us. Admittedly, it never really got to be consuming to either of us, but weve had phases of being busy with planning. Our honeymoon is booked (more on that later in its own post), my bands (yes, I will have two) will be completed tomorrow and shipped to our house, Dereks is in our hands, we meet with the church organist next week to decide on ceremony music (Im currently in negotiations with the church to allow me to walk down the aisle to ‘here comes the bride’), my next dress fitting will be very soon and even my shoes are being broken in. The last completely unfinished task is our programs.  I cant find any paper that speaks to me, I cant bring myself to get excited about such a formality and its sort of nagging at me in the back of my mind. Did any of you brides out there have the same problem with any aspect of your planning or am I a deadbeat bride?

80 more days until Im a Mrs...

Baby Brinley

On Tuesday at 12:11 PM, we welcomed another beautiful little girl into the family. Brinley Claire was 20 ½ inches long and weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces- she was alert and had her eyes open right away. She has her sisters perfect nose and super long eyelashes- shell learn to love those when shes a little bit older.

Brinley Clarie

Despite looking super nervous, I felt so at ease with her in my arms
With Grandma on her Daddys side
 With her uncle Derek
With Grandpa on her Daddys side (I just realized I have zero pictures of her with her other Grandparents!!!)
 Beaming parents
Meeting her big sister for the first time
 We held hands
Begging her not to cry while I held her

My heart is already bursting with love for Brinley. I was blessed to be there the day Macey was born and have watched her grow and learn so much over the last three years. I just cant wait to watch Brinley do the same.

Bathroom Tour

Ive made it no secret how much I love getting a glimpse into the homes of fellow bloggers. I realize its odd to share ones bathroom on the world wide web, but I just put a few new touches on ours and wanted to share. Thanks to our new piece of furniture it feels very close to complete.
Please dont mind the mis-matched towel... we cannot wait to get new ones off of our wedding registry.
How lame is it that were stoked for towels and pots and pans most of all???

Crafty

My MIL to-be had some furniture she no longer wanted and was kind enough to gift it to us.
Derek didnt believe we could find a use for it at first and assumed it would live in our garage
but he quickly learned the magic of spray paint and new hardware.
We desperately needed additional storage in our bathroom so it was easy to decide where it would go.
