The OC

I know that Im late to hop on the train wreck that is "The Real Housewives of Orange County" but that doesnt mean I wont have a strong opinion! I think by now you should all know I will have a strong opinion on just about everything that comes my way.

Not only are these women gold digging hussies, but they are seriously ridiculous to listen to and watch. They are all platinum blond with obviously fake...er... everything, a bizarre way of thinking/carrying on their over-the-top lives, and they seem to have the most out of whack priorities. Sure, it would be horrible to think, act or actually be one of these women but it sure is entertaining as an outsider.

That reminds me of a quote from Clueless:

“Until mankind is peaceful enough not to have violence on the news, there's no point in taking it out of shows that need it for entertainment value.”
I digress.

Moral of the story- if you want to feel like the most morally sound person on earth- check this show out.

Edward Cullen

My friend Allena has told me how to embed links in a post, but my ancient computer at work will not allow it.

And so, the old fashioned way:

Best. Quote. Ever.

Mondays News

I need you all to send happy thoughts my way around 1 PM this afternoon.

I am interviewing for a promotion that I really, really want. I have only been with my company for four months so the fact that I am even eligible or considered is a very big deal.

I fear that blogging about it or even talking about it (though I have already done so for weeks) may jinx it, but I really need your support and encouragement. Should I not get the promotion, I understand that I will survive and life will go on but I will understandably be let down and disappointed. Wish me luck!

In completely unrelated news, obviously I have to talk about the Oscars.
Loved the fashion, the tearjerker moments, the songs and dancing. Hated the Jolie/Pitt duo per usual, wondered why Heath Ledger was missing from the “in memoriam” slide show (anyone else catch that?), thought it odd that Queen Latifiah sang during it, still not a fan of Beyonce, completely and totally jealous of Amanda Seyfried and her close proximity to Robert Pattinson, thought Anne Hathaway was precious, was confused by Reese Witherspoon’s dress as well as Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn’s current relationship status (he didn’t even mention her in his speech). I felt bad for Jennifer Aniston not only for having to see her ex with his big lipped baby momma but also for having John Mayer as her arm candy. Aim higher. Natalie Portman, you are perfection in pink.

Praise for Craigslist

I have never been more impressed with an Internet site as I have been in the last few weeks. In anticipation of my lease being up in a few months, I made the executive decision to start pairing down and get rid of some unnecessary junk in my life. Regardless of where I end up moving, moving is awful and having less clutter in ones life is always a plus.

Step in, Craigslist. You are a Godsend.

I have sold a table and chair set, a dog kennel (I had two), a cat carrier (also had two), other random items of clothing (Seven Jeans that no longer fit), and some wall hangings. I also sold several items for Derek (random furniture he didn’t even use) and weve both been consistently impressed with the quick turn around and interest we have received. I still have several postings for items that remain homeless but I have faith after the responses I have had already that they will sell! As if that wasn’t reason enough to be excited over the under praised site, I also found a fabulous bookshelf that matches my living room set and bought it from a nice family man that lived out in Blackhawk.

Who would have thought that randomly posting your junk would actually make the saying true- “one mans trash is another mans treasure”. If you haven’t ventured onto Craigstlist yet, be sure that you do. Maybe just skip over the creepy personal ads?

Fellow Bargain Hunters

I have been eyeing this bed set for what feels like an eternity- the price does keep going down but is still a little more than Id like to pay. I have googled it, gone to discount websites and even looked on ebay and Criagslist. Does anyone know any inside tips on finding stuff like this even cheaper than those sites?
The brand is Michael Kors, the style is "Taos" and the cheapest I have found the duvet is $129. Anyone out there want to help me find this gem? Pretty please?

Belated Valentines Wishes

Does anyone elses skin crawl when someone calls it "valentiMes?" Ugh.

Derek and I decided to have a more low key celebration this year and stayed in. Seeing as how I bought him a nice gas grill for Christmas and it had never been used, we decided it would be the perfect opportunity to give it a try.

Oh. My. Gosssssssssssssssh.
Derek made us beef fillets topped with fresh crab meat and chipotle cream sauce. In addition to that, we had asparagus, mashed potatoes and wine. After our meal we were so full we had to put the fresh strawberries and hot fudge in the fridge for another day.

Perhaps tonight will be the night we tackle them?

I also am so proud of his creativity when it came to the gift he gave me: I love this jewelry line and was so amazed when he remembered!

Are You Kidding Me?!

You know what makes a perfect cherry on top of the sundae that is my bad/grouchy day?

A parking ticket while at lunch. F.

More Peanut Butter

I know I just wrote a post not long ago all about Reeses Peanut Butter Cups... but I have something even more impressive.

Something that could change my life- or yours- if you have a true love for peanut butter like I do.

Last night at the store, we invested in Reeses brand peanut butter magic shell. Youre allowed to be jealous, its only natural.

Another Angry Rant

Its no secret that I am far too interested in celebrity gossip. I may or may not visit People and Perezhilton a handful of times a day (each). Because I have noting positive to say about my own life Ill go ahead and let you in on the most shallow inner workings of my celeb oriented mind.

-Brangelina: I'm so over you. I was never into you home wrecking hussies, so now its really time to move along. Have more kids, save the world, I don’t care- just get your big lips and bad ‘stache out of my face.

-Chris Brown: Don’t ever hit a woman. Ever. You look so sweet and innocent and had so much potential- bet it hurts to fall from grace. Unless youre not at all remorseful- which it seems your not. If that’s the case, I hope you get whats coming to you.

-Chelsea Handler: Does anyone else find this woman supremely entertaining? She says whats on her mind and makes no apologies for it. More power to her and her show. Hands down one of my new favorites.

-The Jonas Brothers: Youre just Hanson 2.0. No offense, but its true. Your songs may be better but I don’t care enough to listen and find out. I just don’t.

-Prince Harry: Learn to keep your mouth shut, be a red headed wild child, just don’t offend everyone all the time.

-Miley Cyrus: Please get your snaggle tooth mouth fixed and stop posing like a platypus on the red carpet.

-Taylor Swift: You are precious; please don’t let Hollywood ruin you.

-Lindsay Lohan: Cut your hair, stop being sexually confused- youre either gay or youre not. Oh, and your girlfriend is disgusting.

-Katherine Heigl: Why do you think youre so cool? Sure, you had some cute flicks but why bite the hand that feeds you? Oh, and please also get your snaggle tooth fixed and quit smoking while youre at it.

- Robert Pattinson: Last and certainly not least, I love you.

Just Call me Grumpy

Does anyone else that majored in Psych remember SAD (seasonal affect disorder)? Anyone that didn’t major in psych remember it?

Allow me to make reference to Wikipedia:

Seasonal affective disorder (SAD), also known as winter depression or winter blues, is a mood disorder in which people who have normal mental health throughout most of the year experience depressive symptoms in the winter or, less frequently, in the summer, repeatedly, year after year. The US National Library of Medicine notes that "some people experience a serious mood change when the seasons change. They may sleep too much, have little energy, and crave sweets and starchy foods. They may also feel depressed. Though symptoms can be severe, they usually clear up.”

I feel like I have it. I have had such a hard time waking up everyday; my nose constantly either runs or lacks function completely. I am tired all the time, my hair is full of static; I have no desire to work out and find myself justifying the junk Ive eaten for almost every meal.

Sure, I'm being a little melodramatic per usual but I am so ready to fell better. I think 99% of my disgruntled feeling comes from the fact that I have felt under the weather for almost two solid months now. I feel like I need two days of nothing but solid sleep, a healthy and crisp salad and a swift kick in the pants.

This grumpy blog brought to you by the following logical thought: “Many others and far worse off, you just don’t think about it enough. Brat.”

Impulsive Like Always

Did I wait for anyone to contact me with a faboo hair person or place? Negative.
Did I go ahead and schedule an appointment at Salon 505 over my lunch hour today? Sure did.
Do I like the impulsive chop I got in return for my lack of patience? Negative.

Want Ad

I am notorious for spending months growing my hair out only to chop it all off.

I have been seeing the same hairstylist for almost 10 years- he is dirt cheap and ridiculous amounts of fun to gossip with but he is also the most conservative man I have ever known. This is not helpful when one is seeking a stylish, new and hip hair-do. I think its also safe to say that within the realm of discreet color changes, my hair has also been more of less the same for 10 years as well. Time for a change peeps.

Seeking: a fairly inexpensive person here in Austin who can “make me over” without breaking the bank.

Still Stinkin' Sick

I finally gave in and went to the doctor- diagnosis was not so good.

1) Ear infection
2) Sinus infection
3) Upper respiratory infection

3 weeks of this madness has been way too much. Im ready to feel better.

Side note- The Tyra Banks Show has to be one of the worst shows. Ever.

Genius

I dont think its possible to agree more with a commercial than I do with a recent one.

"Because no one should ever have to choose between chocolate and peanut butter"

Genius I tell you. Hands down, I could not agree more.

Fail

I was trying to be extra nice today and decided I would surprise Derek with his favorite meal: a Sonic chili cheese coney. I think theyre one of the most disgusting things anyone could possibly eat but thats neither here nor there.

I got a little excited when the car hop showed up at my door in her rollerskates but immediately dropped my smile when I remembered how awkward this item is to carry and that with everything in my car, it would be a frustrating arm load.

Just when I turned my engine off and grabbed his food, my purse, my two cell phones, my jacket and my drink the bag tore right down the side- and tore and tore and tore. Next thing I knew, his chili dog was on my floor board. Unharmed and not a drop of chili missing- I picked up what I could of the shredded bag only to have it continue to tear until I just screamed and wadded the bag into a ball.

Fail to you, Sonic marketing idiots that decided to cut corners on the paper bags that are incapable of holding such an awkwardly shapped food item. Fail.

If only I ran the world.
